RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Bruce H. Matson, a Richmond gentleman who embezzled more than $800,000 all through his time as a personal bankruptcy lawyer, has been sentenced to 44 months in prison and a $10,000 high-quality, according to a assertion from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Matson was the courtroom-appointed trustee for LandAmerica Fiscal Team, a genuine estate insurance policy and financial companies business that faced personal bankruptcy proceedings pursuing the 2008 economical crisis.
A federal investigation found that in between 2015 and 2018, Matson individually embezzled over $800,000 from the belief set up to administer the individual bankruptcy.
